Motogiardinetta Gallery

We are very proud to share with you the photographs, leaflets and adverts we have discovered during our research. We would like to say a huge thank you to the people who have sent us copies of these. Without you, this site would not have been possible. A special thank you to Vittorio Tessera and Casa Lambretta for your help and allowing us to share many of these!

Press Photos and Advertising

Lambretta were always fantastic at their advertising and publication. This is a collection of original press photos, leaflets, adverts and even a still from a 1960 film. Lambretta portrayed the Giardinetta as the ultimate luxury vehicle for fun days out in the sun.

Lambretta Events

These are photos taken at exhibitions and shows in the late 1950s and 60s. The FDC Giardinetta was a conversion for Innocenti to be proud of.

USA - The Lambretta Surrey

The Giardinetta was renamed the Surrey for the US market. It is to this day a name more widely recognised than 'Giardinetta'. Sales to the USA from Innocenti are unknown but it is believed that both of the Giardinettas in the two adverts below have survived and will be restored to their former glory.

The market for Lambretta three-wheelers in the USA was an exciting one. The Innocenti Corporation (NYC) loved the opportunities avaliable with the FDC 150 also offering the FDC Police Wagon, the Firefly (the fire engine) and a hot dog cart.

Rome Olympics 1960

Rome Olympics was a proud event for Italy and one that many companies and corporations involved themselves in. Both Piaggio and Lambretta provided scooters and three-wheelers for the event amongst other freebies! Finding the Giardinetta at the head of the 1960 Marathon was a definite highlight in our research!
